Layer Masking To Swap Heads In Portraits

  1.  Open the 2 similar images in photoshop screen-shot-2017-02-21-at-8-02-33-am
  2. Use the “Move” tool and click anywhere on 1 picture below its title, then drag the image over the 2nd picture.
  3.  If your layers palette isn’t visible, Window>Layers          screen-shot-2017-02-21-at-8-00-34-am
  4. You should now see two layers: layers 1 and background screen-shot-2017-02-21-at-8-04-34-am
  5. Lower the opacity of the top layer and use the move tool to align the images
  6. Once your image are aligned, return the opacity to 100%
  7. Next click on the 3rd icon from the left at the bottom of the layers palette. When you hover over this icon, it reads “Add Layer Mask” screen-shot-2017-02-21-at-8-07-51-am
  8. Select the brush tool and paint with the opposite color of the mask
